More than two hundred farmers from across Warren County gathered at the courthouse for the monthly Warren County Farmers Association meeting. Speaker W G Eckhart of DeKalb Illinois urged businesslike farming and cost tracking, noting marketing as essential as production. Members voted to raise dues to five dollars, with eighty one paying at the meeting. John Horner of Monon attended for business matters.

Had Teacher Arrested For Striking Boy In School
Miss Helen Pugh of the city schools faced a trial before Justice James Anderson after Eddie Disbennent resisted punishment with a struggle following a classroom dispute with Gerald Prather. Principal William Davis aided the incident leading to a warrant for assault and battery, but witnesses showed no blows were struck and the teacher was exonerated. Williamsport Opera House organization formed and officers elected
At a Monday night meeting, Williamsport opera house stockholders elected Lee Van Reed as President, A. G. Broadie as Vice President, and Ernest Grey as Secretary and Treasurer. The new corporation plans to bid on repairs to the old opera house and begin work soon. Aged Citizen William McAdams Dies in Indiana Township
William S. McAdams 76 longtime Warren township resident died at noon Monday at the home of his daughter near Independence after a period of illness from complications following influenza. He had farmed locally and is survived by a daughter, a son, another daughter in Idaho, five grandchildren, three brothers, a sister, and a late wife Sarah Waymire. A Republican former official, he was a Freemason and Royal Arch Mason. Funeral services were held at Evander Brown’s home with Rev. Kelsey officiating and entombment in Independence cemetery. Attica Masonic lodge conducted the funeral.

Death of Sarah Jane Williams at 36 in Pine Village
Sarah Jane Williams of Pine Village died at St. Elizabeth hospital Lafayette at 9:30 PM Monday from pneumonia. She was 36, daughter of Henry Williams, survived by parents, sister Elizabeth, and brother Joseph. Funeral held Wednesday afternoon at Pine Village. she was an active church worker who lived on the farm east of Pine Village and was educated in Adams township schools.
