First Threshing Machine Victim Near Here
Charley Trett of two miles southeast was the first threshing machine victim this year. At Ralph Strain’s home a gear chain jumped, his sleeve caught, and his left arm was pulled into the machinery. an ugly gash between the wrist and elbow likely affecting bone. Medical aid came. he was taken home and will be unable to work for several days.

Ex Judge Schoonover Hospitalized After Ill Health
Ex Judge Schoonover of the Fountain circuit court was taken to St Elizabeths hospital at Danville from Covington where he will receive treatment. He had been in failing health for months and his physician advised hospital care. He spent part of last winter in Florida and returned home improved, but recent attacks have renewed concerns.
