Bond Holders Buy Goal Road at Private Sale
The Indiana Coal Road was sold Monday at the C and E I depot in Danville NL to Edwin G. Kelley of Chicago for 25000. Bondholders held bonds totaling about 5 million and could have bid higher. They plan to sell the road as a whole if possible, or in sections, to maximize value and avoid junk disposal unless offered a junk price.

The English department of Williamsport High School and the Glee Club presented Queen Esther at Community Hall on Tuesday night. The performance drew a strong crowd despite bad weather, raising over forty two dollars for the school with light expenses. The pupils performed exceptionally well under Miss Nay and Miss Unversaw who directed the production.

Raymond Russell Dead at 36 After Illness at Home
Raymond Russell, 36, died Saturday at 1 45 A M at his parents home near Independence after a three week illness from hay fever complications. He is survived by his parents. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1 30 P M from the family residence in Independence conducted by Elder A W Jackman. Burial followed at Riverside cemetery in Attica. Mrs William McFerren, Mrs Dan Tague and Mrs Joe Russell attended the funeral.

Pine Village gains Star route mail from Oxford
Pine Village patrons welcome Star route mail from Oxford begun January 16 with carrier Fred Young earning $1 per trip. The Oxford to Pine Village schedule runs about 3:30 pm outward and 4:30 pm return, supplementing rural service after railway mail was discontinued December 31. Residents seek reestablishment of Pine Village rural route with two daily trips, and Congressman Will R. Wood has urged department action to grant their request.
