The Warren County Farmers' Association legislative committee met at the courthouse for an all day session to review General Assembly measures. Votes split on extending mortgage exemptions and county road superintendent while abolishing the county truancy officer was unanimous. Arrest of Wm Balser in East Carbon County Raid
William Balser of Joe Albright farm east of Carbon dale was arrested after a U S revenue man searched his premises Wednesday and found a small quantity of white mule seized along with bottles previously containing it. Balser faces a preliminary hearing today in the city. Sheriff Dutcher and Deputy Frame aided in the raid. Mrs Balser attempted to destroy the evidence by breaking the bottle as the officer left.

Bound Over to Court Over Lumber Stripping Claim
James Ratcliff of Attica was bound over to Fountain county circuit court by Mayor J J Rice. Ratcliff is charged with taking lumber from the old Wabash railroad bridge left by a construction crew. He says Kansas City Bridge Co supplied the lumber for cleanup around the new bridge, while Albert Cobb says the company sold it to him. Ratcliff failed to furnish a $500 bond and was jailed in Covington.

Death of Abe Clawson A Warren County farmer
Abe Clawson a longtime Warren county farmer died at his Attica home on Sixth street Thursday afternoon. He would have been 87 on February 4. A Civil War veteran and longtime Democrat he served as Warren township trustee and was widely respected. Survived by widow Emaline Cottingham a half brother two granddaughters a grandson and other relatives. Marion Abolt Injured in Boswell Train Collision
Marion Abolt an 18 year old Boswell youth was seriously hurt when a Dodge sedan driven by Mr and Mrs H L French was struck by a passenger train near the Lake Erie and Western station. The boy was treated at St Elizabeth hospital Lafayette after surgery and is expected to recover. The French couple were also injured with rib and shoulder injuries.
