Arrested On Serious Charge In Veedersburg Area
Henry King was arrested near Veedersburg after assault and battery with intent to kill. He allegedly beat his wife and drove the family from their northwest home, then guarded the house with a shotgun until others removed the weapon. He was taken to Covington for custody, brought back, and bound over to the Warren circuit court with a $59 bond.

Forger Foiled At Boswell In Large Check Scam
Two forged checks totaling over 1100 dollars were passed Monday at the First National and Farmers and Merchants banks of Boswell. Each check for 565 dollars was made payable to Lee Johnson with Harry Sheets’s name forged as the buyer. The suspect, a farmer, claimed to have sold horses to Sheets and fled the area after the incidents. Bank cashiers secured descriptions. investigators believe the man has left the region.

Mrs Leroy Cronkhite Dies at West Lebanon Home
Mrs Leroy Cronkhite died at her home six miles west of West Lebanon Monday night from typhoid pneumonia. She was 45. She is survived by her husband and two children. The funeral was held from the home at noon on Wednesday.

Indiana Supreme Court Upholds Primary Law Provisions
The Indiana Supreme Court on Wednesday affirmed two sections of the new Primary law. It ruled that no filing fees are required for county office candidates and that entrants may join the race without paying money.
