Worth Interurban plan eyed for C and E I line

Worth Transportation of Chicago aims to buy the C and E I line to convert it into an interurban. Coal oil motors would run cars every two hours between north and south termini, extending service to farms and shippers along the route. Negotiations with Perre-Marquette failed. new buyer B H Worthington of the Cincinnati Indianapolis and Western Railway appeared, while workers fear imminent abandonment unless a rescue deal is done before December 31.

Twenty-One Club Meeting at Falls Street Home

Mrs Henry Hartz hosted the Twenty One Club at her Falls street home on Wednesday. A majority of members attended a delightful gathering with a two course dinner at four o clock. Officers for the coming year were elected. Guests included Mrs B F Bush Mrs B O Hudler Mrs Elizabeth Hall Mrs Amos Lower Mrs Lou Schlosser Mrs Jerry Marlatt and her daughter Jane. Mrs Milton Keister was Christmas shopping in Lafayette Tuesday.

A boy a little over sixteen seeks a home in Warren County. He has only a common school education and has worked wherever possible but finds little farm work this season. He is healthy but homeless, with his mother in California unable to help. Trustee Oscar Harman aids him, yet a home is needed before Christmas.

Methuselah Club Entertains Guests for Storied Evening

Mrs J H Stephenson and Mrs Ele Stansbury of Williamsport hosted the Methuselah Club and husbands on Friday December 16 at Pap Stephenson's home. Guests enjoyed a three course dinner, new members inducted, solos by Hon E F McCabe and Ruth, palmist reading, two readings by Lady Methuselah Bowlus, and a gift basket with varied items. Guests included Mrs Guy Stephens of Chicago and Mrs Harry Schoonover of Detroit.

Whickcar and Ransom Wed at Attica M E Church

Miss Whickcar daughter of Mr and Mrs Mark Whickcar and Charles Ransom son of Mrs Thos Ransom were married at noon Friday at the Attica M E church parsonage officiated by Rev J J Wilson. The bride, a Fountain county teacher, and groom began housekeeping in Talbot in a furnished cottage.

Poisoners Made History In Fountain County Court

In Attica the trial of Mrs Laura Arnold Mrs Clara Layton and William Layton opened with a chemical analysis in court. The trio faced charges of attempting to poison Charles Arnold husband of Laura. A pie and arsenic evidence were presented. Laura and William received 3 to 14 year sentences. Clara Layton was discharged.

Community Christmas Fest at Opera House in Williamsport

The annual community Christmas celebration is set for Saturday night at the Opera House. Doors open at 7:00 and program begins 7:30 with performances by Williamsport public school students. Santa Claus may appear to distribute treats. Christmas baskets will be delivered to needy homes. Donations to H. B. Elwood are welcomed.
