The second meeting of the newly formed Parent-Teachers Association was held in the school building last Friday afternoon. Pupils in Miss Hillyer's room gave a program before committees were appointed to arrange next meeting activities and recruit new members. Forty three attended, with thirty nine signing as members.

Mission Guild to Send Candy and Handkerchiefs to Tennessee Pupil
The Girls Missionary Guild of the Presbyterian church hosted Rev and Mrs W F Hoot with guests bringing homemade candy and two handkerchiefs each for Aliss Bessie Sparks a former pupil of Viola Feld now teaching in Kittyton Tennessee Sparks will receive gifts from the local Guild as Christmas presents Sparks teaches with 41 pupils. The Williamsport Independents beat the Oxford Commercials 26 to 12 in a local basketball game Chet Sexton starred for Williamsport and Shorty Hawkins led Oxford. The Presbyterians Ladies Auxiliary plans a Christmas bazaar and chicken dinner on Saturday December 10 in the High building across from the courthouse. Mrs Jennie Little hosted a farewell party Tuesday afternoon and plans to leave for Ohio for winter. Merle Smith returned home after seven months at Camp Travis Texas and five months at Camp Benning Georgia. Mr and Mrs John Held attended the Indiana Titlemen annual meeting in Indianapolis where Held serves as president. Mrs Isaiah Smith returned from an extended visit to Wisconsin with sister Ella Smith and daughter Lela.
