Two Killed in Auto Accident Near Lafayette
Postmaster Robert Dobbins and his wife of Wolcott died when their car veered into a ditch on the Montmorenci road near Lafayette. Their daughter Vivian and niece Jeanette Dobbins survived after the vehicle plunged over a ten foot embankment during a passing attempt.

Wabash Railroad Claims Another Victim Sunday
A man aged about 30 to 32, 5 foot 10, 200 pounds, was found along the Wabash tracks near Riverside after likely falling from a freight train. A roll of $17 and 40 cents in change were found, clothing bore no identifying marks, and the body was prepared for burial in Attica.

Robbery at Lafayette Hotel Targets Travelers
C L Messner of this city and QO Olson of Chicago were robbed in their rooms at the Hotel Fowler in Lafayette Tuesday. Messner lost 50 dollars and Olson 56 dollars. Detectives have been retained to investigate and track down the culprit.

County Teachers Institute Praised for Strong Attendance
Under County Superintendent Harry Evans the institute has been a great success this week with exceptionally large daily attendance. Lectures by top educators benefited teachers and trustee day drew nearly one hundred attendees excluding Dr. MacGillivray. Trustees reported county schools in fine condition and expect higher enrollment. most teachers have signed contracts though some vacancies remain.

Mary Rodgers Dies in Covington at 85
Mrs. Mary Rodgers mother of County Commissioner Peter M. Rodgers died after a lingering illness at her Covington home. Survived by children Peter M. Rodgers Lincoln Rodgers Emma Kinney and Mrs. David Rouse. Funeral services were held at her daughter’s home in Covington with interment in Baltimore cemetery.
