Mr and Mrs John Held and children J Earl and Mary return from a nineteen day trip through the East. They traveled via National Trail through Columbus Dayton Springfield Wheeling Hagerstown Cumberland Gettysburg to Washington, saw the Capitol Lincoln room and Harding viewing, Mt Vernon, Baltimore, Atlantic City and Philadelphia. The 2640 mile journey included a Canada visit and a great power plant and ended in Fort Wayne. They camped and cooked own meals to save costs.

Sheriff Avis Dutcher responded to a noon Sunday incident near Lou Davis home involving Harry Fletchman and Joe Comstock of Hoopton. After a wreck in a Ford, both men under liquor were arrested and jailed. a Monday hearing fined each $15.75.

Mrs Eliza Scott Dies At Attica After Long Illness
Mrs Eliza Scott widow of Nathan Scott died at her Attica home after a long illness. Born in Ohio May 15, 1844 she moved to Indiana years ago and lived in Kickapoo before relocating to Attica. Survived by daughters Mrs Alex Meredith and Mrs Jay Warbritton and sons Warren and Burt Scott. Funeral in Attica at 2 30 pm Wednesday with Elder A W Jackman officiating.

West Lebanon man arrested for transporting liquor after wreck
John Butler of West Lebanon was arrested by Sheriff Sanger near Covington after an auto wreck. A full quart of liquor was found in his car leading to charges of transportation. He was jailed in Covington, then moved to jail here, arraigned before Justice Powell, and released on $1000 bond.

David Foster Injured in Bench Accident in Williamsport
David Foster an elderly wagon maker long time Williamsport resident was seated with Thomas Powell on a bench in front of the Farmers barber shop when the bench tipped as Powell rose causing Foster to fall and break his left hip. He was taken to his Old Town home by DeMotte's car and Dr Tilton treated him. Foster is about 85 years old.
