Attican Husband Fires At Wife In Attica Shooting
In Attica Ben Harvey shot at his wife Alma Hoober Harvey injuring her breastbone the bullet lodging near her shoulder. He then fired into the air and fled before being captured two hours later at the pool hall. The alleged motive is jealousy. Mrs Hoober had filed for divorce. Harvey is in Covington jail awaiting September court action.

James Wilhite, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Edgar Wilhite of Attica, vanished from the State Village for Epileptics at New Castle two months ago with another inmate. Officials have no reason for the departure, and the parents report no contact or clue. Some fear harm while others think he fled to escape monotony and hide his identity. Esther Luppold narrowly escaped drowning while bathing with picnickers in Pine Creek last Sunday and was rescued after going under a second time.

Tuesday morning in Pine Village robbers struck the homes of Peter Brier Thomas Cobb and editor Sterling Cooper taking 13 14 and 60 cents respectively Horse Thief Detective Association woodworth hounds traced the trail toward Attica then jail where Sam Tarrett was jailed awaiting Warren county authorities Prosecutor Mehaffey found no link and Tarrett was released He had been with a gravel road crew near Pine Village and his odd conduct the night before triggered the arrest.

Autos Clash at Road Crossing Near Riverside
