Sheriff Avis Dutcher and deputies raided the Charles Lacey cabin north of Kramer. They found two mash barrels and a hidden oil stove while Lacey fled, later captured with a 44 revolver at the scene. Charles Pennick was stopped but found with only watermelons.

Mrs Deming wife of Dr Deming formerly practiced in West Lebanon and later resided in California died at her home on Friday. It is understood death followed a broken hip from a fall. She lived to the youth, she would have.

The Elm Grove Sunday school held a picnic at Pot Holes on Pins creek last Sunday with about 75 attendees. Morning session from 11 to 12, a big dinner with tenderloin sandwiches and varied desserts, then a friendly horseshoes game, a young men vs dads baseball match 12 to 13, a hymn sing in the congregation, and a moment of silent prayer for the dead President.
