Funeral Held For Kingman Resident John W Metsker
John Wesley Metsker 79 of Kingman died August 1 after a brief illness. Born near Pine Village in 1842 he lived on farms near Pine Village and Kingman. He married Zillah Little in 1868 and is survived by wife Carrie Ford N Webb Metsker two grandchildren and other relatives. Burial was at Mound Cemetery Pine Village.

New Concrete Bridge Over Wabash At Attica
W J Titus an engineer for the state highway commission prepares plans for a new concrete overhead bridge over the Wabash railroad near Attica to replace a dangerous wooden structure. The twenty foot roadway will allow two cars to pass safely and grades will be widened to twenty feet with half the cost paid by the state and half by the railroad.

Radius rod causes crash near Kramer injures two women
Elwood Simmerman driving a Ford roadster en route to Attica Sunday afternoon was thrown clear after a radius rod broke near Kramer. Mrs Edna Hayes and her sister Mrs E A Brown were pinned under the car. Hayes suffered three broken ribs and other minor injuries while Brown endured internal injuries and bruises.

Funeral for John Andrew Held in Attica
John Andrew 76 died at his Attica home last Thursday morning. The funeral was Saturday at 2 30 p m conducted by Rev J J Wilson of Attica Methodist Church. Interment followed at Independence cemetery. He was longtime Warren County resident known as honest and upright. He once ran a Kickapoo store then a Winthrop business before moving to Attica as janitor at the Central National Bank building. He retired two months ago due to ill health and died after a rapid decline. Survived by widow and son Jacob of Attica, five grandchildren including Jacob Ora Crane and Eva Smith, and sister Mrs Mary Barr of near Independence.

New Creamery Planned for Attica by E A Keller
E A Keller of Crawfordsville has rented the Kate Finney dwelling on Mill Street Attica and is converting it into a creamery for butter production and milk sales. The building is being stripped to a concrete floor with a small area preserved for offices.

George Wagner Hurt At Carmichael Gravel Plant
George Wagner sustained a severe left forearm burn Thursday morning while operating an engine injector at the Carmichael gravel plant where he works. Hot water and steam sprayed from the injector as it began operating backward, causing the injury.

Union Meeting Highlights at Miss Claypool Home
The Women's Missionary Society and Westminster Guild of the Presbyterian church mixed a union meeting at Miss Mabel Claypool’s home. The Guild furnished entertainment with a spirituals singing quintet and a playlet. The society then hosted a picnic supper on the Claypool lawn. The Co-ed Whirl gathered at Miss O Leara Biggs house with guests Miss Helen Schualter of Indianapolis and Miss Helen Taylor of Grant Kansas. Mr and Mrs W F Simpson returned to Chicago after a week with Mrs Mary Johnston and the Ashby sisters.

Death of Stephen H Potter in Webb City Mo
Word reached Friday of the death of Stephen H Potter at Webb City Missouri. Potter, 27, was born May 19 1895 in Williamsport and lived in Warren County before moving to Boswell then Missouri. He served in the 90th Division later the 82nd during World War I and was wounded near the Argonne Forest. He died after tuberculosis developed following his military service and prolonged medical care. He leaves a father stepmother a half brother three sisters and three brothers along with grandparents and many relatives.

Moonshiner Stein Arrested at Newport Police Custody
