Pirates Capture Schooner After Boarding from Formosa
A schooner bound from Liverpool to Shanghai is seized by three Formosan natives posing as passengers. The captain, mate, and two Swedes are killed. the crew and self survive. The mutineers, aided by a larger pirate band, imprison the crew, loot the cabin, and waste the ship. The narrator, the cook, and remaining crew are later found aboard the vessel, with evidence pointing to a wine poison plot. The captured English ship, with twenty five dead aboard, is recaptured by a Royal Navy ship nearby.
