Delegates and crowds flock to St Louis as Thurman and Gray factions clash over the Democratic nomination. The depot buzzes with bands and processions, while Knapp expands seating for reporters and Thurman supporters press for unity amid a split Ohio delegation and mounting pressure from allied states.
John P. Reardon’s funeral was held at Monticello church with a large attendance. Mrs Reardon, her daughter Alice, and W. W. Apsley of Philadelphia attended and expressed deep sympathy. The church was draped in crape and garlands as Morehead delivered a temperate sermon and the bereaved family received support from officials and friends.
