War Clauses Likely In Life Insurance
Dallas report states military clauses will be added to new life policies by most American firms this year due to the European war. E G Brown of the Texas Association says premiums may rise. Canadian firms already charge extra per $1000 for service. In the U S, the clause would limit death benefits to premiums paid unless a company permit is obtained, often with a $50 to $100 annual per 1000 tax.

Texas deer abound despite breath thin in gourds
Reports to the Texas Game, Fish and Oyster Commission say deer numbers are up across the state and in some areas would outstrip food supply without a breath. Biologists cite malnutrition as a major death cause, not ticks, while deer health remains good and spread widens to counties that hadn’t raised them for years. The issue notes bumper dove and quail seasons, large gar caught in Angelina River, and a white skunk sighting in Crockett County.
