Grayson County Commissioners set a 90 cent tax rate for 1949, down five cents from the current rate. Estimated tax income on $47.5 million valuations at 95 percent collection is $406,125. The budget totals expenditures and balances at $1,205,952, about $500,000 less than the prior year.
Austin reports Grayson County will receive 1 431 624 in total state aid for schools with 778 934 from Gilmer AkIn funds and 652 690 from per capita allotment. Fannin County gets 974 875 and Sherman ISD gains 256 802 while Denison ISD adds 158 977 from last year.
Judge Roland Millar told William Hache of Gareneau Mills Oregon to take a walk if he cannot stand his wife after Hache was charged with assault. Millar noted some women are unbearable and advised not to beat a wife but to leave home. The report adds a remark about scalping not usually being fatal.

Plaintiff claims ten year adverse possession and payments of taxes by John H Perry after a 1945 quit claim by the City of Sherman.
