What's Cookin' At The School
The Kents found a hidden attic box in the old Guy Hamilton house on Gowdy St containing magazines from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Among items were two Whitewright Suns from 1899 and 1900, a Leonard Graphic, Ladies Home Journal, Reeves and Stillwell catalog, Saturday Evening Post 1900, Farm and Ranch, Thanksgiving 1901, Harter's Almanac, Willard Grady Literature Journal 1901, plus other era publications. Jean Kent plans to preserve the box as she admires the period pieces. The feature also lists a weekly school menu for September 18–22, 1972 with daily meals and beverages.
