A Texas draft director reports Texans show higher fitness rates than the national average. Brig. Gen. Paul L. Wakefield notes 60 percent of Texans passed physicals versus 40 percent nationally, with over 11,000 Texans examined since Aug. 7 and about 6,600 passing.
