The first Camp Fire Girls meeting was held Oct. 18, 1967, in the new high school in Mrs. Harper's room. Officers elected were President Claire Whipple, Vice President Karen Jarvis, Secretary Betty Kay Geers, Treasurer Jayne Harper, and Scribe Gina Judd. This is the 4th grade group. Refreshments included cool-ache and cookies. While we had our refreshments we practiced our manners.
The Town and Country Club met October 19 at Mrs. Sims Wortham home in Pilot Grove. Members and visitors attended as officers were elected: Wetzel president Ireland secretary Vestal program chair Reynolds reporter Wendell parliamentarian Wortham recreation leader. Next meeting set for November 2 at Mrs. Vestal with a Christmas ideas program.
Whitewright unbeaten Tigers dominated Fannindel Falcons 40 to 8 at Ladonia. Cureton threw a 39-yard TD pass, Watkins and Montgomery scored in the first period, with Caraway adding a second period TD as Montgom ery converted extra points. Falcons’ lone TD came in the second quarter. The Tigers travel to Wolfe City next, then Bells at home and finish against Van Alstyne.

Bert L. Sanderson aged 93 died after a long illness at Whitewright Nursing Home. He was a retired farmer married to Aggie Travillion in 1895 Collin County. Survived by wife, five sons Homer Elmer Boyd Clifton Andy, three daughters Bessie George Royce, 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren. Funeral held at Barnhart chapel with pallbearers grandsons. Burial Oak Hill Cemetery. He was a Church of Christ member. The Whitewright Volunteer Fire Department schedules its annual Swiss steak supper for Saturday, November 11 at the Firemen's Hall. Proceeds will go toward paying for the fogging machine bought this year. The election date conflicts, so voting will be held in City Hall.
Trenton will host a costume parade starting at 5 p m in downtown. Ribbons will be awarded in five costume categories by out of town judges. The Halloween carnival follows in the school gym with games of skill chance homemade items plants and something for every age group. Tickets at the door are 5c-10e per person. People from other communities are invited.
The Bethel W M A Jackie Shaw Circle gathered at Mrs Betty Jarvis home for the Circle program and Bible study led by Mrs Louise Franklin. Participants included Mrs Ruby Cawthon Mrs Billie Bartley Mrs Johnnie England Mrs Jessie Williams and Mrs Betty Jarvis with seven members and three children present.
