Up to Thursday morning 3 265 bales had been ginned by three Whitewright gins, near last season's total. At an average 50 cents per bale farmers have earned about 163 250 dollars for cotton this fall, plus government payments for destroyed crop raising total over 200 000 dollars. Buyers paid 9 to 9 1/2 cents per pound for cotton and 13 dollars per ton for cotton seed as the market rose this week.

Wolf Hunter Chase Ended in County Courthouse Display
In a days long pursuit near Sherman the largest gray timber wolf in the county was tracked by 25 to 30 hunters with 24 hounds for seven hours and fifteen minutes. Dr. W. L. Younger transported the wolf’s body to the courthouse to be shown to County Judge Jake J. Loy and the county commissioners.

Mrs G W Bennett Funeral Held at Savoy
Funeral services for Mrs G W Bennett 82 were held at the Methodist Church of Savoy with Rev Vail officiating. She died in Burkburnett while visiting her sons T W and J L Bennett. Born January 11 1851 in Green County Kentucky, she moved to Texas in 1892 and lived near Whitewright most of that time. Her husband died March 10 1925 and she leaves five children, a sister, and a brother. all five children attended the service.
