Whitewright travels to Plano for a 7:45 start in what figures as a tough test, with Plano undefeated and the Tigers coming off one loss, as Roby Childress and the scribe urge local fans to fill Plano seats and back the team.
Whitewright scored 92 to Whitesboro Pekinese 71 yards pass gains and multiple touchdowns. Montgomery opened with an 80 yard kickoff TD followed by several runs and passes with Kaiser, Starr, Thornhill, and Smith also scoring. Tigers posted 11 of 21 passes for 278 yards while Whitesboro had 89 passing yards and 71 scrimmage. four Whitewright picks and strong offense cited. Officials listed as Orick, Smith, Harding from Austin College.
Toreador editor Jim Lindsey reports College Night will broadcast weekly on Fridays at 6 30 from WFAA featuring pep rallies and football comments from southwestern colleges originating in the alumni at Texas Technological College.
Sept H W Key arranged for Whitewright students to attend the Dallas Centennial on Thursday Oct 29 with a Katy railroad fare of 90 cents round trip. The train departs Whitewright at 9 55 a m and returns at 11 p m. Street cars from Highland Park will shuttle students and sponsors to the Centennial grounds. Sponsors receive the 90 cent rate and parents may accompany children. Centennial attractions have special rates and admission to the grounds is 25 cents. Over a hundred local students and sponsors are expected.
New York editors in Liberty Magazine poll 5,145 editors surveyed with about 4,600 voting. Roosevelt predicted to gain 269 electoral votes minimum, Democrats set to win 266 House seats, 20 of 36 Senate seats, leaving Republicans with 159 House seats and 27 Senate seats.

Lubbock this week previews Centenary Tech ahead of the big game. Tech is a fast-growing college with a strong football squad this season, having defeated TCU and posing challenges for other SWC teams.
Sherman county officials ordered arrests of persons who damage roads by driving over them with steel lug tires or sharp plows. County highway officer E A Whiteacre and Sheriff Benton Davis were urged to patrol for offending vehicles. County engineer H M Scott said signs will warn that defacing roads is a law violation and prosecutions may follow.
The city began Wednesday an eight day program to clean repair and paint the water works standpipe. Pumps will run continuously to serve water users though pressure may dip in some areas. Mayor F M Echols said the best service will be maintained and the notice aims to answer complaints during the work.

In Terre Haute Indiana citizens blocked both entrances to Radio Station WBOW and pelted Communist candidate Earl Browder with rotten eggs preventing entry for a scheduled speech. A person was hurt in a stairway clash with blood seen. Browder departed to his hotel after the incident.
In Litchfield Illinois Rev L A Crown of Union Avenue Christian Church urged married men to kiss their wives daily for six weeks after a sermon on the worlds worst sin. He warned he would check up on participants and tied the pledge to gratitude for virtue.
Senator Morris Sheppard of Texas filed his first senatorial campaign report on money received and spent for reelection. He answered none for each item, noting the corrupt practices act requires a preliminary report ten days before and a final report within thirty days after the election.
George L. Berry announced that 34 state labor federations have indorsed the re election of President Roosevelt. He added that 20 international unions and 85 international officials have made similar endorsements in a formal statement.
A strong Texas norther moved in Wednesday bringing sleet hail and rain across the state. Whitewright felt the cold snap around 10 a.m. with temperatures dropping sharply. rainfall totaled 1.21 inches Wednesday night and early Thursday in the area, marking the first moisture in weeks. Reports say near freezing temperatures in the Panhandle with rain in Abilene and other locales Vernon saw a hailstorm and Wichita Falls reported sleet.
Jim Lindsey of Whitewright High School fame coordinates the College Night program from Texas Technological College gym Friday night October 23 from 6 30 to 7. He is editor of The Toreador and has been praised by Dale Drake of Crook's Advertising for his concise material. Lindsey is Tech's first two year editor and heads The Toreador and a social fraternity simultaneously.
New Ashford Massachusetts leads a nationwide rush as election results begin to roll in. NBC plans include live bulletins read by Graham McNamee and John B Kennedy, with reactions from New York crowds and on the air messages from party chairmen Farley and Hamilton. Short wave relays will carry the coverage internationally.
The extraordinary legislature unanimously passed a bill to extend voting statewide to 9 p m on election day November 3. Governor Lehman will decide. No debate occurred as lawmakers followed party accords extending the 6 p m closing time due to increased registration statewide. The polls open at 6 a m.
Prize winners in the Pure Food Show cake baking and baby show were named. In Austin the state Senate and House debated the omnibus tax bill as Gov. Allred delivered a forceful message urging deliberalization of the old age assistance act and outlining tax implications and the need for reform. Senators weighed the message while praising the governor's timely, statesmanlike remarks.

Texas leaders report hundreds of thousands in new donations to the Roosevelt Garner fund including 10000 contributions from Roy Miller and Jessie Jones. Mrs Clara Driscoll Sevier and Mrs W L Clayton also gave 10000 and 5000 respectively as Garner urges district and county chairmen to push both funds and votes.
Miss Nina Faye Storns, 18, daughter of Mr and Mrs J H Storns, was fatally injured when she fell into a well at 8 am Wednesday at her sister’s home one mile northwest of Trenton. Her neck was broken. Survived by parents and several siblings including twin Ina May Storns.
