Denison Dam would have controlled Red River floods
U S engineers calculate that if Denison Dam had operated since 1906 the Red River reservoir would have rarely stayed above the power pool and would have managed the 1908 flood within the 75 000 second feet discharge capacity. The 14 500 acre reservoir would store 5 818 000 acre feet at spillway level with flood storage of 2 745 000 acre feet and dead storage of 1 155 000 acre feet.
