The home of Mr and Mrs E T Doss west of town was destroyed by fire about 430 am Wednesday. Mr Doss lit a heater then slept and woke to find the house in flames. Only a few clothes bed clothes and a canary bird were saved. Mrs Doss was visiting in Pilot Point. Antlers and hunting trophies valued by Doss at many times insured for 800 were destroyed. Household goods insured 1000. Harold Doss as farm owner held 800 policy on the structure placed.

Fire damages Farley mill and feed building
Damages totaling about 500 dollars struck the Farley feed mill, corn shelter, and building when a Tuesday morning fire started shortly after 11. About 700 bushels of corn stored inside were affected. The plant was operating as fire crews arrived, but two water streams controlled the blaze, limiting damage to the building and corn. The leather belts, feed mill, and shelter suffered the greatest losses.
