One Arm Driver Lacks Steady Hand On Wheel
University of Georgia psychologist Dr. Austin S. Edwards tested how distractions affect hand steadiness using a mock steering setup. He found that looking straight ahead minimizes disruption while tasks like handing a pencil or looking out a window significantly increase involuntary hand movement, with higher effects when only one hand grips the wheel. Results to be published in the Journal of Applied Psychology.
