Road Bridge Bonds Refunding Ordered
Sherman county commissioners authorized issuance of 89000 in Grayson County road and bridge refunding bonds to take up three prior issues. The 2.75 percent bonds mature serially over 10 years with 1000 dollar denominations. They replace 8000 in 1929 five percent bridge repair bonds 37000 in 1936 warrants and 44000 in 1937 warrants, enabling redemption option and savings from reduced interest.

County Law Library Books Are Received
Five bookcases and several hundred lawbooks were placed in the areaway of the district clerk's office in the county building as the foundation of the new county law library. The Texas cases only from the Southwestern Reporter were bought from the Rock Island railroad's Fort Worth legal department. Fine assessed for damaging pavement in Sherman
A Whitewright man was fined 25 dollars and costs totaling 32.50 in corporation court for damaging street pavement in Northeast Sherman. He was driving a tractor and plow when stopped at 700 North Harrison after traveling from the old Denison highway via Grand to Tuck and east on Tuck to Harrison.

Dr B Wrenn Webb pastor of the Presbyterian church was feted with a surprise birthday party for his 70th birthday last Thursday. Presbyterians lined the Webb home as lights came on and six children sang. The event included a reception line, cake, and gifts from the Ladies Aid Society. Webb, born September 29 1868 in Erin Tennessee, has served as local pastor since October 1933 after a long ministry and multiple synod roles. He and wife Laura have two children and one grandchild.

Thousands of Works Projects Face Funding Shortfall
