The residence of J. R. Fleming was destroyed by fire Wednesday at about 3 o'clock. Mrs. Finch, who had rooms there, left moments before discovery. Several tenants lost trunks and clothing. estimated losses run to $300 per person. Fleming carried $3,500 building and $600 household insurance, while Mrs. Finch had $1,000 on household goods. Firefighters prevented spread to neighboring homes and some damage occurred to adjacent properties.
