Death of Kerkley Wright at 17 on Holland farm

Kerkley Wright age seventeen son of Mr and Mrs J E Wright of the Holland farm two miles south of town died last Thursday morning after influenza developed into acute peritonitis. Funeral and interment were at Bethlehem cemetery Collin county Friday led by Rev McCraw. He joined Woodmen of the World in Whitewright earning a junior insurance certificate of $1000.

Tragic Accidental Death of 4-Year-Old Near Tom Bean

The 4-year-old adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Snap, living west of Tom Bean, was found smothered in a cotton seed hull house after playing alone. The child, son of Mr. J. R. Dean, had been raised by the Snaps since infancy and died before a funeral at the Christian church with interment at the Wiittee cemetery. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved family.

Teachers Examinations Set At Central High School Sherman

Examinations for all grades of teachers certificates will be held at Central High School in Sherman on Friday and Saturday, December 6 and 7. The schedule lists Friday forenoon subjects including physical geography and arithmetic, Friday afternoon with Texas history and bookkeeping, Saturday forenoon covering spelling and civics, Saturday afternoon featuring United States history and algebra.

Residence Destroyed by Fire on Spruce Street

Fire destroyed the residence of Lee Adcock on Spruce street Sunday afternoon after his daughter tried to rekindle a stove fire with gasoline. The loss exceeds insurance. the fire department and volunteers saved nearby property. no serious injuries among children. Whitewright notes good protection and cautious residents.

Funeral of B R Allison Near Ely

B R Allison aged 52 died at his home near Ely last Friday night after a year long illness from tuberculosis. He leaves a wife and four children. A Texas resident since 1892, he was active in the Baptist church and fraternal orders Woodmen of the World Woodmen Circle Odd Fellows Lynch lodge Ely. Funeral services were led by Rev Kerr and Rev Epting with burial at Oak Hill cemetery.
