Corn loan rate raised six cents for 1942 crop

Three Face Death For Treason in Illinois Case
In Chicago three men convicted of treason were sentenced to death by electrocution on January 22 at a Northern Illinois location. Their wives received 25 years in prison and $10,000 fines. The defendants aided and sheltered Herbert Hans Haut, a Nazi saboteur. co defendants were Walter and Lucile Froehling and Otto and Kate Wergin. This marked the second treason conviction in 148 years of U S history.
