A party is set for Friday night at the Legion hall with a Dutch lunch and an ex servicemen gathering from Whitewright and nearby areas. An invited program and Dutch lunch will follow, with a note that a popular recently legalized drink may be used in the reception.

Cattle Deal Against Expectation Nets Tiny Dallas Profit
A Whitewright buyer paid 2.50 for an old milch cow and less than that for two calves. He expected 6.75 from the cow and 3.00 for the calves in Dallas, but sold the cow for 1.68 at 675 pounds and calves for 2.60 at 260 pounds. After truck costs and labor, he cleared only 78 cents, declining to charge for gas or depreciation.

Sun Subscriptions Closes Campaign With Loyal Support

Hail Storm Monday Hits Whitewright Area
A Monday hail storm damaged roofs in Orangeville Porters and surrounding communities south southeast and east of Whitewright. Hail stones nearly as large as hen eggs killed a few chickens and could have destroyed crops if present. Most damage was to roofs with some automobile tops damaged.

Thief Steals Pants and Cash From Dr. Carter in Bells
Dr. C. S. Carter of Bells, former Whitewright physician, woke to find a thief in his bedroom. The intruder sat in a chair, searched Carter’s trousers, seized the pants and about 25 dollars, then fled as Carter chased him. Friends Charlie Carter and E. C. Whiting slept nearby. Whiting later found he had money stolen from his pockets but had deposited over 100 dollars earlier that day.

Grayson Man Kills Oklahoma Woman in Madill Kitchen
Miss Anne Ables, 25, was shot four times by former sweetheart Beale Tunney, 35, who then shot himself in the head. Tunney, from Van Alstyne, entered the kitchen through a rear door after threatening her when he saw her with another man. Ables was the daughter of Mrs. John T. Ables.

Murder Targets Denison Sisters in Rural Texas
Grayson County sheriff and citizens hunt two men charged with murder and attempted robbery after Antonia Bachman 49 dies from a shotgun wound at her home twelve miles northwest of Denison. The sister Lepoldine was reportedly in a field when the shot rang out. The murder followed a ransacked home and the concealment of money, with a $50 reward offered for Bill Buchanan and John McCoy.

Denison murder suspects nabbed near Red River
Bill Buchanan and John McCoy, charged with the murder of Miss Antonia Bachman northeast of Denison, were captured Wednesday afternoon by Grayson County Sheriff J. B. Davis and two Bryan County Oklahoma deputies four miles west of the new Red River bridge. They were picked up while picking cotton on a farm after a tip led officers from Denison into the Red River wooded district. Sheriff Davis paid a $50 reward to the tipster.
