Whitewright residents backed the drive as President Herman Philley with co chairs Clint Hennig and Tom Sears propelled the United Fund over its target. Local citizens contributed generously to fund community needs.
November 21 event runs all day at the library with PTA support and open to all. Contests and refreshments planned as the community gathers.
The FFA Greenhand Chapter initiated twenty two first year members, including Dwayne Murphy Philip Huffman Paul Johnson Sam Atterberry Donald Caraway Robert Green Ted Williams Randy Wilson David Roberts Randy Hunt Mike Starner David Hess James Battles Bob Bound James Kelsey Ricky Spencer Dennis Chesser Ronnie Rice Roger Capps Brad Alexander Leroy Klepper and Jerry Thomas. The group also discussed Cent from page 1 suppers County Rural Fire Protection and a United Fund pledge. The Whitewright Volunteer Fire Department praised for service since 1950 and now seeks funds for a down payment on a third truck. The supper fundraisers drew praise for the city’s citizens and bake sale volunteers.
Request for reunion whereabouts contact June Gail Purdom or Donna Kay Latimer in Whitewright and Leonard respectively. Aimed at locating addresses for thirteen classmates from a 33 member class, noting the second reunion following December 1965 gathering.
Mr Collins longtime butcher at Farley and Hill in Leon ard since 1950 with sales experience, has joined Tex Robinson in 1968. Collins plans to run another food store in Trenton while Paula remains at Stephens and Bryant in the city.
