In Whitesboro Texas two two story brick business houses owned by F G Jamison were burned. The North Texas Telephone Company upper floor suffered $1200 loss with 80 percent insurance. The Majestic Theater lower floor loss $3000 with $1500 insurance. Attorney Jake Fisher upper floor burned $1200 loss. Ora Fox restaurant on lower floor ruined with no insurance $600. Whitesboro lost telephone service but expects restoration in two to three days. Harmon family and Miss Maud Anderson narrowly escaped with lives and lost all furnishings.

J W Thompson formerly of this place died last Friday at his home in Marietta Oklahoma after a three week illness. Born October 11 1873 in Tennessee he moved to Texas as a youth and lived here years as a clerk in Gallaher Bros drug store. Fourteen years ago he went to Marietta where he ran a drug business twelve years. He belonged to W O W and Knights of P lodges and was held in high esteem. He leaves a wife two children and several siblings including the youngest sister Mrs Luther Smith. Body arrived Saturday afternoon. funeral and interment at Oak Hill Cemetery conducted by Rev J F Fender and Rev W A Kirkpatrick.
