Col. David P. Parrish former resident and Rice University and United States Military Academy graduate becomes commander of the 6555th Aerospace Test Wing based at Patrick AFB. He brings 20 years in space programs with past roles at USAF and AFSC Space Systems Division Los Angeles and now leads launch test and evaluation of space vehicles for the U S space program. About 2000 people including over 800 voting delegates from 203 county bureaus will attend the 36th Texas Farm Bureau convention November 6 to 19 at the San Antonio Convention Center. Summers Honored With 50 Year Mason Pin
Russell Summers of Whitewright received a 50 year service pin at the local Masonic Lodge meeting last week. He joined Trenton Lodge No. 76 in 1919 and Whitewright Lodge on August 5, 1940. Summers has served as Worshipful Master and Secretary in both lodges and made frequent Grand Lodge visits since 1922 with only two missed trips. Mrs Summers attended and placed the pin on the Mayor’s lapel.
