In Jackson Tennessee a 3 month old boy was attacked by a swarm of red ants while left in a crib under a tree. The infant became unconscious as ants fed on spilled milk and the child’s condition remained critical.

Farm Debt Bill Approved by Senate Judiciary Committee
The Frazier bill creates a six year farm debt moratorium and limits payments to the secured property value. Insolvent farmers who fail to win creditor acceptance can seek a federal trustee, stay in possession, and pay 1 percent interest plus 2 percent semiannual principal for two years and 5 percent for the next four. Amos and Andy to take summer vacation from radio

Three Sherman Jail Breakers Captured
Adrian Petty Roy Batts and George Droddy escaped from Grayson County jail in Sherman after slugging the jailor with a sandbag and were captured by Oklahoma officers near Pawhuska. They are returned to Grayson County on robbery with firearms charges stemming from a gunpoint auto theft from R. B. Camp at Gunter and may face kidnapping charges in Oklahoma for additional car thefts.

Red Cross Chapter Plans Nurse Hire in Grayson County
Grayson County Red Cross chapter voted to employ a nurse for rural health work and will request the commissioners court to appropriate funds to expand the program. Director F M Echols announced the plan and the group set aside money for life saving lessons. A life saving class is expected at Rock Lake swimming pool near Whitewright.

County Commissioner John Washburn announces start Friday on a half mile upgrade of the Whitewright Kentuckytown road. Truck operators will deliver rock from a pit south of Kentuckytown, with loading and dumping by the drivers and rock spreading by the county crew.
