Funeral services were held in Denison Wednesday for Ben F. Blanton 76 a retired Katy Railroad machinist who died Monday in a Denison hospital. Interment was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. He was born July 3 1888 and formerly lived in Whitewright. He married Frances Delia Hodge January 2 1910. she died in 1960. Survived by son Sheriff Woody Blanton daughter Louise Blanton another son and daughter Ben F. Blanton Jr. and Mrs Dorothy Wells, sister Mrs Charles Layman of Whitewright and a great granddaughter.
Funeral services were held for William Henry Holland 86 in Whitesboro. Burial followed at Macomb Cemetery near Whitesboro. He was born March 26 1879 in Georgia son of Frank and unspecified mother. He married Texana Ragsdale in 1940. survived by wife two step-daughters and a step-son three brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Paul Pritchett 60 of Dallas native of Savoy died Friday in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services were held at Savoy and burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. She was born October 13, 1904, daughter of Mrs. Alice Withrow and the late O. J. Withrow. Survived by husband Paul, mother, a son Rev. Paul L. Pritchett, two daughters, two brothers, three sisters, and six grandchildren.
President Johnson announced he directed the Mint to manufacture 45 million silver dollars for the balance of the fiscal year ending June 30. The coins will be issued in Western regions where the silver dollar has long been used, responding to complaints of a shortage in those areas.
