The Canaan Presbyterians who lost their house in a tornado have bought an interest in the Everheart Memorial Methodist church and will move the building to Presbyterian lots near the railroad. Roy Booth, a middle aged Grayson County farmer, and his five year old daughter died at the family home on Choctaw Creek twelve miles northeast of Sherman. The father died from carbolic acid poisoning and the child died from a related cause after a Thursday noon event.
A Grayson county family tragedy ends with a five year old girl fatally shot in the abdomen and her father dying minutes later from a self-inflicted pistol blast. The father, Boothman, reportedly drank carbolic acid before the fatal sequence. Surviving relatives include a wife, three young sons, and his father T. B. Boothman, a longtime county resident.
