Whitewright High School baseball team has won all games to date in 16-B District play and non-league contests. Upcoming games include Gunter at Gunter on Friday and S S here on Tuesday.

The U S Public Health Service reports more alcoholics are being admitted to state mental hospitals. About one in seven new patients is an alcoholic, a 19 percent rise in ten years. The typical alcoholic is male, divorced, and undereducated.

Spring commencement exercises are scheduled for 8 p m June 2 at Fouts Field. McClure seeks a Bachelor of Science in Education and is the daughter of Mr and Mrs J Hermon Philley. Tillett pursues a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and is the son of Mr and Mrs Clarence Tillett.
The First Baptist Church lists Sunday events from 9:00 Sunday school at a nursing home to 7:45 the revival prayer meeting and 7:00 worship. Monday features a Youth Rally at Ida Baptist Church. Friday May 14 hosts a church dinner honoring Seniors '65.

Funeral services were held at Earnheart chapel for Mrs. E T Doss 84 with Rev C C Dooley officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. She died of a heart attack Sunday in Sherman hospital after several days as a patient. Surviving include one son Harold Doss four daughters and a sister with several grandchildren.

Education Commissioner Francis Keppel outlines target grades, plans for buses and faculties, and publication requirements to prove compliance.
The Texas House redistricting committee sent a measure to the floor to redraw maps pulling Grayson County from the Fourth District into Rep. Graham Purcell’s 13th District. The plan would shift six Fourth District counties into the First District, and reconfigure the Fourth and 13th to include multiple north Texas counties amid looming federal deadlines.

The Friday Literary Club met at Miss Gladys Ray's home on April 30 to observe National Music Week. Mrs. C. P. Johnson, Mrs. J. C. McMillin, and Mrs. Dale Gore led programs while Mrs. James Bryant presided. Projects include Penny Music Fund and High School library book donations.

Perrin Air Force Base sets Armed Forces Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with sky divers from Fort Hood, aircraft on static display, and flyovers by F series jets. Lt. Col. Claude W. Hanley Jr. leads the program under the slogan Power for Peace.
A survey by the Illinois State License Division shows the safest drivers are aged 35 to 75. It also finds that 20 to 24 year olds have the highest accident rate among age groups.
