Half of America's males die before age sixty five
Half of American men die before 65 while 40 percent of women do not reach 65. About 360000 men and 200000 women die yearly before 65, including over 100000 infant deaths. Early life hazards persist, but care for prematurely born children may reduce infant mortality. Heart disease and cancer drive most premature deaths but gains in life conservation continue.

The Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad had its request to discontinue two daily trains between Woodward Oklahoma and the Texas-Oklahoma line at the Red River denied by the state corporation commission. The panel held trains are a public convenience and a line loss does not justify removal. Nebraska is noted as the Cornhusker state in a Bennington battle recap from August 16, 1777.
