High School Reflector published by the senior class of Whitewright High School lists editors and a long roster of reporters across senior junior and student classes. Names include Clydean Selman Lela McFerrin Foy Jean Bow Babe Beazley and many others.
Whitewright gears up for a strong season with many returning lettermen and an experienced lineup except center. The squad aims for a similar size as last year and faces Commerce as a tough rival after a 20 0 win last season.
The freshman class led the Friday assembly on March 12 with Rebecca Bennett serving as mistress of ceremonies and guiding the program.
The program featured six fourth grade girls singing classic tunes including Swinging Beneath the Old Apple Tree Oh Susanna and That Palomino Pal of Mine Laura Bess Rich and Wanda Sue Alexander performed Vaya Con Dios and Mildred Dean Cobble sang I Dont Claim to Be an Angel Babe Beazley announced Swept Clean Off Her Feet staged by Margaret Williams Ann Hunter Clydean Selman Bobby Clark Kenneth Hyepock and William Russell The freshman class received thanks for a very good assembly program.
The Reflector staff invites nominations for editor assistant editor feature writer sports writer and other roles. Elections should be completed by April 30 with freshman edition due May 3 noon for publication May 6 in The Whitewright Sun and subsequent editions by May 10 May 17 and May 23 noon for seniors final.
Senior girls sneak to the gym during seventh and eighth periods to practice basketball for next year. Clydean Selman Martha Burchfield lead a short roster with Bow Selman Harris Whipple McFerrin Pennell as starters. Underclassmen include Ayres Phillips Morris Bennett Alexander Bassett Bush Mc Curdy Alcorn Gunter Hunter. Area V homemaking program sends Bells and Whitewright to Denton for NTSTC program on March 27.
Members of the homemaking class are completing a study of breakfast preparation and will soon begin etiquette. Some WHS students hold a perfect attendance record yet were tardy on occasions. The note highlights those with both perfect attendance and an A in deportment, signaling mixed records among the pupils.

L L M notes the junior class is busy preparing a banquet to be held Friday night March 19 at the Legion Home. Seniors and teachers received invitations on Monday March 8, and the writer expects an enjoyable event.
The Young People’s Training Union of the First Baptist Church sponsored by Rev. Newton Cole enjoyed a Friday night weiner roast at the roadside park near Trenton. Members and guests attended.

On Monday morning March 8 the senior class received invitations to the junior-senior banquet. The event will be at the American Legion Home on March 19 with students dressing in tuxedos and new mats for the girls. The seniors thank the juniors for making this memorable occasion possible.

The place card committee met to decide seating for the junior senior banquet. After a lengthy discussion the committee settled on the final arrangement. Members making the decision were June Neathery chairperson John Brown Connie Andrew Barbara Hasty David Reeves and James Bennett.
Three representatives Duncan Barrett and Franklin met with the senior class trip planning committee on Thursday morning March 11. They priced three proposed journeys to New Orleans Louisiana a Colorado dude ranch and a Bandera Texas dude ranch. The committee gave the Bandera option consideration before summoning the senior class to vote.
A discussion concluded with general agreement that the proposal could be explored. Further meetings will precede a definite decision, as noted by F. J.
The speech class began casting Whodunit by Anne Coulter Martens and Dress Reversal by John C. Gerber with actors chosen. Last week the class chose its all star cast to present Her Feet. Tentative date for the productions is Friday April 2.
