Sneed shoots slayer of his son in law in Paducah

Resolution to Raise Salaries of Officials
Austin March 6. The House approved the Moore Rountree joint resolution by 102 to 23 proposing a constitutional amendment to raise official salaries. Governor 8000, Secretary of State 4000, Attorney General 6500, Comptroller 4000, legislators 10 per day for 120 days and 5 for remaining days. The amendment would go to voters in November 1924.
Thousands See Ku Klux Klan Parade in Denison
Sherman Democrat reports a large Ku Klux Klan parade in Denison with up to 20 000 spectators along Main Street. About 600 to 1 500 marchers in robes and masks proceeded from Union Station to Forest Park, preceded by horsemen and a 30 man drum corps. A talk by Rev. David Fuller preceded the procession. Three Dallas mounted cars carried roughly 420 parade participants.

Negro 15 Indicted for Five Murders in Waco
In a day long session the grand jury returned nine indictments against Roy Mitchell a local Black man. He is charged with the murders of W P Driskell Harrell Bolton Grady Skipworth W E Holt and Mrs Ethel Denecamp and with assaulting the three women with Bolton Skipworth and Holt. Additional charges include assault to murder Tony Alessandro and two counts of attempted criminal assault. Trial for Holt and Mrs Denecamp is set for next Thursday in Fifty fourth district court with two 75 member venues summoned.

85 year old man subscribes to local paper
Sulphur Springs Texas March 6 An 85 year old man subscribed to the local paper yesterday claiming it is his first ever subscription. He said he was born in Georgia grew up in Alabama and came to Texas about forty years ago. He served in the Confederate army under General Forrest and reads easily without glasses. He lives near Crush Hopkins County seven miles east of Sulphur Springs and wants to stay posted in his declining years.
