Most business houses will close next Tuesday for the Fourth of July holiday with activities at American Legion Park including a dinner. Tonight and Friday the Showboat Minstrel will be shown in the school gymnasium with advance tickets valid for either night. Proceeds support the Chamber of Commerce and its Whitewright community betterment program.

Deaths Tom Norris 55 Whitewright native dies in Dallas
Tom Norris 55 a native of Whitewright died last Thursday afternoon in Baylor Hospital Dallas after months of illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at Earnheart chapel and burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. He married Georgia Mae Pumphrey in 1924 and lived in Sherman Graham and Dallas before co owning Norris Brothers Garage. He is survived by his widow two daughters father four brothers three sisters and one grandchild.

Girl Chokes on Bottle Cap During Lemonade Making
