The panel also certified county results and assembled a delegates roster for the convention.

The Grayson County Development Council opposed parts of the administration’s proposed federal farm bill after a July meeting at Bootie Riddle's cabin on Lake Texoma. Two London doctors report in Lancet that music played to fetuses 14 weeks before birth elicited responses in 284 of 290 pregnancies. Only six showed no reaction, two of which were stillborn, suggesting nonresponse may indicate deafness or malnutrition.
A change in the law lets older workers earn up to 1200 annually while still receiving some social security. Benefits are reduced by one dollar for every two earned between 1200 and 1700 and by one dollar for every dollar over 1700. News of the death of Mrs. LaNell Craig wife of Homer Craig has been received. The Craigs lived in Whitewright about 20 years ago. Her husband and one sister are the only survivors.
Sam Burt Sorrels 77 died Sunday at home in Van Alstyne. Funeral at 3 p m Tuesday at First Baptist Church with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery Whitewright. Born August 21 1884 in Texas he was a retired farmer and Baptist. Survived by widow Annie Sorrels two daughters Mrs Ralph New Dallas two sons Elton Dallas Leon Houston sisters Mrs B D Veach Dallas Mrs Julia Rowland Honey Grove brothers Jim Dallas Wylie Fort Worth four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Lula Pearl Autry 58 died in Plainview yesterday. She was a dormitory counsellor at Randolph Hall West Texas State College Canyon. Survivors: two sons Harold and Gary Autry of Plainview, three sisters Mrs. McDowell Mrs. Faye Hawkins Houston and Mrs. R D Butler Trenton, and her parents Mr. and Mrs. McDowell. Funeral will be attended by her family.
Ellis Campbell Jr. of Dallas IRS says North Texas saw over 4 720 delinquent or amended returns filed since January boosting federal tax receipts by more than 1 100 000. The rise, 16 percent year to date, is linked to publicity about a Dallas grand jury probe and the ADP program.
Chicago based broadcaster Frank Edwards claims in Fate Magazine that at least five Soviet cosmonauts died in space flights. He lists Terenity Shiborin 1959 Piotr Dolgov 1960 Massikevich Zavadosky 1961 a man and woman moon mission that vanished in May 1961 and two more missing Mikaelov and Belokoney.
