The Woodmen of the World Lodge in Whitewright reopens under Ross Young of Pilot Point. Nineteen members were initiated last week and thirty more join tonight at the Odd Fellows Hall with the Bonham Drill Team in charge. Grain Brings Good Price As Threshing Opens Here
Threshing started in the Whitewright area with oats selling 33 to 35 cents and wheat 76 cents per bushel on Wednesday. Yields range from 6 to 18 bushels per acre for wheat and oats, but overall the grain crop is among the poorest on record due to weather. Cotton remains strong, boll weevils are present, corn needs moisture, and haying activity is down which could raise next winter prices.

Deward Brame, end of the 1933 Kilgore High School football team, received a three year suspended sentence in Fifty-Ninth District Court after pleading guilty to introducing stolen property. He admitted stealing a car at Ada Oklahoma and bringing it to Sherman with Adrian Petty. He vowed to return to school and said he would be the football team manager next year.
