Vaccination of Dogs Here Next Tuesday

Bonham residents can vaccinate dogs for rabies next Tuesday June 23 at City Hall from 2:00 to 3:30 p m. Veterinarian Dr W D Witcher leads the mass program priced at 1 50 per dog. City ordinance requires yearly vaccination and collar vaccination tags. Mayor Russell Summers urges nonvaccinated owners to participate.

Deaths Mrs Effie Alexander Sister of Grover Hardcastle

Mrs Effie Alexander died Sunday in a Sherman hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Sherman and burial took place at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bells. Born April 11 1881 in Kentucky she was the daughter of W E and Mrs Hardcastle. She married Charles B Alexander Jan 13 1889 in Kentucky and came to Texas 63 years ago. Survivors include her husband four sons three brothers Grover Hardcastle of Whitewright Eldon Hardcastle of Miami Fla and Roy Hardcastle of Altus Okla seven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

He leaves stepsons Lloyd and Richard Monk, a stepdaughter Beulah Pruitt, a brother Milton Murley, two half-brothers Alar and John Brady Murley, a half-sister Anna Key, and nieces and nephews including Mrs Billy Muirhead.

Equipment Ordered For New City Well

The City of Whitewright awarded a two part contract to J. L. Myers Sons for a well pump pump house storage tank and related controls with sums 12167 for the pump and chlorinator and 4413.94 for a 21000 gallon galvanized storage tank and related pumping and controls. Mayor Russell Summers said work on the pump house would start immediately to be ready when the pumps arrive and the new well will secure water supply for the foreseeable future. Plans for remodeling the city hall fire station and street paving follow financing from higher water rates.

Grayson Group Seeks Markers and Medallions for County Sites

The Grayson County Historical Committee in Sherman recommended four medallions for Grayson College building in Sherman Troy Jace building and Binkley Hotel building in Sherman and Younger Sullivan home in Whitesboro. They also sought four historical markers for Pilot Grove Kentuckytown Sherman Manufacturing Co. and Whitewright Masonic Lodge chartered as Kentucky Lodge No 167 at Kentuckytown January 24 1856.
