Storm damages crops and homes on a windy Friday night
A severe wind and hail storm hit the area around eight o clock Friday, injuring several people and destroying parts of crops. The heaviest losses occurred south and southwest of town with corn and cotton badly damaged and area cotton replanted by farmers. Total damage runs to thousands of dollars, with Pilot Grove Baptist arch and a residence damaged north of Whitewright.

Auto and Miller Brothers Hurt in Railroad Crossing Crash
An auto carrying Bob, John and Will Miller of the Desert collided with an east bound Cotton Belt train car at 11 40 last Sunday at a railroad crossing in town. Bob Miller was seriously hurt and taken to a sanitarium in Sherman after local care at D M Mooneyham's home, while Hob Miller suffered serious injuries and the other two had minor scratches. The west bound car then transported Bob to Sherman for treatment with hip injuries noted.

Auto Ditched injures Sherman couple near Bells
Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Buchanan of Sherman were injured Friday when their car left the road at the Kim brough turn near Bells. W. W. Bryant and Marvin Bryant pulled them from the wreck and took them to Payne Cottage. An ambulance later carried them home. no bones were broken and recovery was expected with care.

Obituary: A P Gilliam Dies After Paralysis Struggles
A P Gilliam longtime North Whitewright resident and Texas landholder died Friday morning after a relapse of paralysis. Born 1835 in Missouri he moved to Texas in the 1850s and leaves a wife four sons and a Dallas married daughter. Funeral and burial were held Saturday at Virginia Point near Savoy.

Child Dies of Acute Bowel Trouble
