Plenty of rain fell Saturday and Sunday night slowing crowds at events. Wind brightened conditions with no major damage. Community figures and families noted illnesses, funerals, and visits from Sherman Dallas and Abilene as residents attended operations and services.
Mrs. Ben Denton aged 31 wife of Ben Denton of Bethel community south of town died last Sunday at the State Hospital in Terrell after treatment there for about three weeks. Funeral held Tuesday at 10 a.m. Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. I. E. Teague and Rev. Stewart officiating. Interment in Wittitoe Cemetery. Survived by husband a five year old daughter her mother Mrs. Ester Hansard and brother Lowell Hansard. The Sun extends sympathy to the family.
Sherman Texas offers a special summer term starting June 4 with a $30 tuition for a $40 course. Prof Ivy promises job help upon completion, aiming to give students a three month advantage over summer loafers.

Mrs Cynthia Ann Sanderson aged 77 died at her son B L Sandersons home in Bethel after a six month illness. Born in Indiana June 6 1852 she married W N Sanderson in 1871 and moved to Texas in 1886. Survived by two sons fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral at Pilot Grove Baptist Church conducted by Rev J T Purvis with burial in Pilot Grove Cemetery.
Elmer Magers has returned from a visit with relatives and friends in Roff Oklahoma. He traveled to the town for a family gathering and to refresh ties with local kin.
