Warehouse Cotton Co operative Marketing Law Emphasized
The warehouse law in Texas stresses organized, law governed co operation to stabilize markets for cotton. It sets rules for stockholders including minimum 60 percent farmers, $5 shares, one vote per holder, and at least $1,000 capital. Receipts certify weight and grade allowing sellers to contact buyers nationwide with state backed assurances. The system aims to reduce losses from grading and sampling while enabling producers to obtain full market value.
