Washington reports 18 year olds may enlist to avoid drafted service next year under a law limiting annual enlistments by service branch. Pest Cost Cuts Income of Cotton Farmers
The National Cotton Council reports that 1946 losses from boll weevil boll worm and other pests totaled over 250 million dollars, averaging one eighth of cotton income. It urges 1948 control through dusting with poison, counts of infestations, and regular five day treatments under county agent guidance.

Deadline to reinstate lapsed NSLI by July 31 1948

Reinstating GI Insurance How Much Must Be Paid
