Death of Mrs Capitola Doss Prominent publisher’s wife
Mrs Capitola Fulkerson Doss wife of T Glenn Doss publisher of The Sun died at Whitewright Nursing Home after a brain cancer illness of six months and eleven days. Funeral services were held at Barnhart Funeral Home Denison with Rev David A Jones and Rev Howard Adams officiating. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Survivors include husband son and daughter with numerous Fulkerson and Doss relatives listed among out of town attendees.

Miss Mary Luella Wilson Joins CPS Staff in Whitewright
Miss Mary Luella Wilson, a Texas Christian University home economics graduate from Fort Worth, becomes home service adviser for Community Public Service Company. She is assigned to the North East Texas Division, will direct home activities across the region, make house calls, and present to home demonstration groups. She is a native of Muenster, Texas, educated at Linden-Kildare public schools, and earned a BS in June.

The farmer's purchasing power dropped to 75 percent parity in April, the lowest in 24 years, amid record costs and low prices.
