Glad Hand booster trip a grand success across towns

Whitewright boosters led an eighty five mile Glad Hand journey Tuesday morning with twenty decorated autos and the American Legion Band. About eighty people traveled visiting Ida Tom Bean Cannon Pilot Grove Desert Westminster Blue Ridge Nobility Trenton Orangeville Randolph Ector Savoy and Bells. The Bells Community Canning Club showcased corn canning putting up over two hundred cans and aiding public service while crops across the route show blooms and big bolls despite boll weevils.

Texas families outnumber housing by millions in 1920 data

Texas with 4 663 228 people hosts 1 017 413 families but only 946 629 dwellings. Urban 1 512 689 people form 354 483 families in 303 021 dwellings while rural 3 150 539 people total 662 930 families in 643 608 dwellings. The statewide shortfall is 70 784 families, 7 percent.

Meeting at Church of Christ to Begin Sunday

Elder J P Sewell of Abilene cannot conduct the revival at the Church of Christ starting Sunday. Elder L S White of Sherman will lead the meeting, familiar to Whitewright residents, with choir practice Friday at 8 pm. Admission urged for all, with emphasis on support for Gus Atkinson in the upcoming July 22 election.

Boll Weevil Catches and Wind Damage Report

Westbrook Appeals to Voters in Street Speech

Former State Senator Ed Westbrook of Wolfe City campaigned for Congress in the district Monday night. Introduced by Senator D. S. McMillin he urged repeal of the Esch-Cummins Act, supported a reformed Federal Reserve, and called for adjusted soldier pay and stricter immigration laws. He backed Blanton in graft exposure and noted a second bid against Rayburn, who defeated him two years ago.

In Denison and Sherman market places will be set up early this week where railroad men can buy products at reasonable prices. If needed, farmers will donate farm products. Kimbell Dies Suddenly at 66 in Whitewright TX

B B Kimbell president of Kimbell Milling Company and a prominent Texas mill man died suddenly at his Whitewright home Saturday morning at about six. He was 66, survived by wife Mattie, daughter Coleman Carter Jr of Oakwood, and son Kay of Sherman. He built a regional milling empire with plants in Whitewright Wolfe City and Sherman and was known for fair dealing with farmers and strong political ties. Funeral held at Whitewright Methodist Church with large attendance and extensive out of town notices.

Dog Catcher Killed Taking Boy's Dog At Goose Creek

Houston July 8 A dog catcher C L Razor was killed at Goose Creek when Philip Eischelberger 14 shot him after Razor tried to take the boy's dog. A fight with the boy's father preceded the shooting. The youth fired two shots into Razor's body killing him instantly. Mrs D Shelton of Fort Worth is visiting her sister.
