Dr Jack C Norris of Atlanta warned at the American Society of Clinical Pathologists meeting that mixing strychnine with whisky or other alcohol is a deadly combination. He cited cases where victims ingested both and died within hours, noting the poisons affect the heart and breathing and that alcohol and strychnine act similarly on the brain and spinal cord. He urged reduced dosing and rest with strychnine and cautioned drinkers and users to avoid mixing the substances.

Group forms to push soil conservation law in Texas
